Goshen Gladiators host community dinner

Members of the Goshen Gladiators Varsity and Junior Football team along with head coach Chip Elliot hosted the July 30 community dinner at St. James Episcopal Church in Goshen.

This is the second year in a row that the boys have hosted this dinner as a way to kick off the start of the new season and to say thank you to the Goshen Community for all the support they receive. The boys would also like to thank Mr. Joe Betro and Chef Mike Urato of Delancy's Restaurant for generously donating the food along with the parents of the Goshen Football Touchdown Club.

This has been one of many project these young men have done in dedicating there time, efforts and generous appreciation in being residents of Goshen. They contribute to the food pantry monthly and during the Spring Break, the Goshen Touchdown Club picked a winning ticket for the Spring raffle that indicated "for the boys!" With these funds the boys donated their winnings to purchase the paint and diligently painted, with the coaches, the weight room where they spend many hours in. They also labored in uprooting the floor that was pitted and in need of a replacement. This was replaced by the Buildings and Grounds Department as a capital improvement at Goshen Central High School.

In a world where many individuals are consumed in themselves, these young men and their coaches have not only been dedicated to each other as a team but also the community in which they live. Go Goshen Football Gladiators! Its a wonderful example that you have set for the future of our community.
